This policy explains what personal information Glad2Fund collects when you use this website or get in touch with us, what we do with it, and what rights you have over it. We’ve tried to write it the way we’d explain it in person, so please get in touch at info@glad2fund.co.uk if anything here isn’t clear.

 

 

Who we are

Glad2Fund (glad2fund.co.uk) is operated by Sedulo Accountants Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 06877348, with a registered office at 62-66 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 2EN. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the “controller” of the personal information described in this policy.

Our data protection registration with the Information Commissioner’s Office is ZA 051105. Chris Gladwin works with a regulated firm to arrange business finance, and that relationship shapes some of the information sharing described below.

The information we collect

We collect information in two ways: what you give us directly, and what your device shares automatically when you visit the site.

What you give us directly: 

  • When you fill in an enquiry form: your name, business name, email address, phone number, the type and amount of funding you’re interested in, and anything else you choose to tell us in a message field.
  • When you email or call us: whatever you share with us in that conversation, including any documents you choose to send.
  • If you sign up to hear from us: your email address and, if given, your name.
 

What we collect automatically

  • Technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, and general location (city or region level, not precise).
  • How you use the site: pages viewed, time spent, links clicked, and the site or search term that brought you here.

We collect this second group through cookies and similar technologies. See the Cookies section below for more on this, including how to control it.

We don’t collect any more information than we need for the purposes below, and we don’t ask for sensitive categories of information (such as health data) through this site.

 

 

How we use your information, and why we’re allowed to

Data protection law requires us to have a valid legal basis for everything we do with your information. Here’s what we use it for and which basis applies:

  • Responding to your enquiry and discussing your funding needs. This is necessary to take steps at your request before any arrangement is entered into.
  • Passing qualifying enquiries to the regulated firm we work with, to assess and process an application, where you’ve asked us to take this forward. This is necessary to take steps at your request, and it’s also in our legitimate interest to connect you with the right team to help.
  • Keeping the website secure and working properly, and understanding how it’s used so we can improve it. This is in our legitimate interest, balanced against your right to privacy.
  • Sending you updates or insights you’ve opted in to receive. This is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • Meeting our legal, regulatory, and accounting obligations, including keeping records the law requires us to keep. This is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation.

We don’t use your information to make decisions about you using automated means alone, without a person involved, and we don’t sell your personal information to anyone.

 

 

Who we share your information with

We share information only where it’s needed to do what we’ve described above, and only with the following types of organisation:

  • The FCA-regulated firm we work with to assess and process finance applications, where your enquiry is one we’re taking forward on your behalf.
  • Lenders and finance providers, but only once an application is genuinely progressing and with your knowledge.
  • Credit reference and fraud prevention agencies, where a funding application requires a credit or identity check.
  • Service providers who help us run the website and our business, such as our hosting provider, email provider, and Google Analytics.
  • Regulators, law enforcement, or other authorities, where we’re required to by law.
  • A buyer, if we ever sold or restructured the business, in which case your information would be one of the assets transferred, subject to the same protections described here.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

 

 

Where your information is stored

Some of the tools we use to run this website and communicate with you, including Google Analytics, may store information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where that happens, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or a UK adequacy regulation, so your information stays protected to UK standards wherever it’s processed. How long we keep your information

We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, including satisfying any legal, accounting, or regulatory reporting requirements.

  • Enquiries that do not progress: If you make an enquiry but do not proceed with a funding application, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 6 months of our last contact.
  • Enquiries passed to our partner firm: If your enquiry is progressed to an application, we will retain your record for 6 years from the date the application is closed or the finance agreement ends, in order to comply with our regulatory obligations and defend any potential legal claims.
  • Marketing consent: If you have opted in to receive updates from us, we will keep your contact details until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.
 

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. You’ll be asked to choose which non-essential cookies you’re happy for us to use when you first visit the site, and you can change your mind at any time by updating your preferences here. Check our Cookie Policy for more information.

 

 

Keeping your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure hosting, restricted access, and encryption where appropriate. No system is completely immune to risk, but we review our approach regularly and take security seriously.

 

 

Your rights

Under data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask us what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct anything that’s inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, in certain circumstances.
  • Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your information.
  • Ask us to move your information to another organisation, where technically possible.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where we’re relying on consent.
  • Complain to us, or to the regulator, if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@glad2fund.co.uk. We will normally respond within one month. If we have reasonable doubts about your identity, we may ask you to provide proof before we can process your request, and the one-month timeline will start once your identity is confirmed. If your request is particularly complex or you have made a number of requests, we may extend this by up to two further months, and we will let you know within the first month if an extension is necessary.

 

 

How to complain

We’d rather put things right ourselves wherever we can. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, contact us at info@glad2fund.co.uk and tell us what’s gone wrong. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 30 days, look into it properly, and keep you updated until it’s resolved.

This website and our services are aimed at business owners and are not directed at, or intended for, anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
